As the state has hilly and difficult terrain, there remains the challenge of poor connectivity, transport facilities and communication and remote and far-flung villages are worst affected. Only a few health facilities have continuous water supply along with sanitation arrangements. In an energy surplus state, the electricity supply is unreliable, especially during the monsoons, in rural and remote areas.

With a joint effort of Shri Babu Bhuyan, OSD to Govt of Meghalaya and Shri Amit Garg, Secretary CAMP GROUP, we had the privilege of conducting a Camp Group in the Kharkutta constituency at Kharkutta Football Stadium and Adogre Mini Sports Stadium (North Garo Hills) on 28th and 29th December ‘2023. Site arrangement and organization support were provided by Local MLA & Chairman, MNREDA, Mr. Rupert Momin.

SERVICES OFFERED IN THE CAMP GROUP: Introduce MMU service to the rural community of Meghalaya, Primary health services, provide diagnosis and free medicine, Pathological service, Free Ophthalmic services, refer patients to nearest govt. hospital for further treatment and follow-up, Provide family planning services through DH&FW dept.
